The second and final part of a monograph on the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter, which became the symbol of Luftwaffe victories during the Blitzkrieg era. Its combat use between 1938 and 1943 is discussed, with the first chapter showing the actions of the 'Emilas' during the Spanish Civil War, where they outclassed their opponents for the first time. Subsequent chapters depict the participation of Luftwaffe fighter units equipped with the Bf 109 E in the September campaign in Poland, the 'Sitting War', the Norwegian and Western campaigns. A further part of the book describes the use of the 'Emili' in the Battle of Britain, in the Balkans, over Crete and North Africa, and during the invasion of the USSR. The author also included the service of the Bf 109 E as attack aircraft. He outlined the fate of the various units and the pilots who fought in them.
